You can ring the GPS unit and simply listen in discreetly.(the GPS unit does not vibrate or ring )
You can press the SOS alarm button to send an alert.
This will give the location to the registered phone numbers in case of an emergency.
The SOS function also allows you to talk into the GPS tracker & make yourself heard on the receivers end with the mobile cell phone
